Anurag Kashyap, a famous Bollywood movie maker started his career in the arena of theater. Prithviraj Theater in Mumbai is one of the reputed theaters in India and Anurag was very interested in knowing the workings of this theater. However, he knew nobody there and had NO way to access the inside world of Prithviraj. One fine day, when he was sitting in the canteen, it struck to him that he could work in the canteen of the theater and he immediately checked if they could allow him to work. There were no job vacancies, so he agreed to volunteer. During volunteering, one of his tasks was to deliver chai (tea) to the rehearsal rooms. Access to the rehearsal rooms meant that Anurag could now closely observe the process of direction, acting and so on. Slowly, he agreed to volunteer to read scripts or any other small tasks in the rehearsal rooms – The rest is history!
