New Year 2026 Reading for the World

Taking the chart for 1st Jan 2026 00:00 as the muhurta as well as horary/prashna for the whole world, the following analysis is presented:

Moon is placed in the sign of Taurus, an Earthy sign which is very focussed on material essentials of food, clothing, housing, money and education. Moon being in this sign we will see interesting news about the world economy and its developments. Moon is in the 9th House of Dharma and principles – and is under the gaze of Saturn (the lord of Karma) which indicates a mindset trend towards more ethics, Dharmic living and moral uprightness. There will be an opportunity for honest and ethical people to earn and live a good life, since Moon is also ruling 11th H (of gains) in this chart. Moon placed with Uranus also indicates a search for knowledge and philosophies that can cater to the changing landscape of the modern world with its unique challenges. Adaptation to new technology will take place at a pace that is faster than ever before in the history of mankind. That will have both devastating and positive effects on the well-being of life on Earth. It is likely that some spiritual figure takes up political office or assumes some major leadership role in the world during this year.

The rising sign as Virgo in this chart does indicate the need for Karmayoga and selfless service. Heart-oriented and devotional approaches like Bhakti singing and Bhakti based arts will see a rise as the panacea for ailing souls.  That’s the way forward this year, because Mercury – the ruler of Virgo in 4th H with the cocktail of planets is likely to give emotional issues, anxiety and a feeling of lacking inner security and comfort, for most people. Maybe this is not an exaggeration given how the rising ruler Mercury is afflicted by aspects from Saturn and Ketu – the only saving grace is the aspect of Jupiter – the Guru, The Guides need to play a big role for things to transform and sanity to be maintained. Major communication breakdowns are definitely expected with Mercury being so afflicted, technology and internet failures could also be likely in some parts of the world for some periods. If you are a teacher or counsellor or guide, the Jupiter in the house of work/purpose calls you to play a more proactive role and there’s no doubt that your value will be seen in the world more than ever before. Jupiter being retrograde – you are to help the people that arrive at your doorstep (or text messages) to heal from their emotional traumas and tremendous disharmony in relationships of all kinds especially marital discord and all the restless energy in that area. One of my mentors had a wise insight that the Third World War will not be about nations fighting but about the battle of the opposite sexes.

Major stock market crashes are also likely worldwide and those who are heavily trading in stock markets would be best advised to lower their hopes and play very conservative. In the months of April, May and August some major news about stock markets and gold prices is likely to emerge. Silver prices may also see a volatile trend but maybe (not sure) there will be a rise in prices. Please play with caution if you are involved in the above financial games. With Saturn placed in the house of business, The results in the world of business and entrepreneurship are also likely to be mixed and business owners need to put their head down and work with lots of perseverance, they need to be smart about their investment choices and reflect on what is likely to really serve them. Governmental and legal regulations and constraints can cause some slowdowns and your business need to find a way to tread through this uneven terrain. If you are a corporate employee, growth is likely to be slow but those who are in senior management and leadership positions are likely to do better than the others.

I was talking to a friend who is a senior Astrologer and he pointed out that this year numerologically and also based on Moon Nakshatra lord belongs to Surya/Sun – the planet of leadership. Those with weak Sun in their Astrological charts could get affected adversely and need to perform regular Astrological remedies with proper Astrological guidance (not ChatGPT advice!).

The rise of AI is likely to still continue but the major challenge will be about finding the raw human emotional and sensual aspect, which AI cannot cater to. More and more people are likely to see AI as a servant and task doer, rather than being in awe of it. AI will be increasingly seen as another tool at the service of humanity but it cannot replace Natural intelligence, which is exponentially more superior. This year is likely to see the fall of some social media influencers and they may see some major litigation or some other kind of conflicts and backlash around the middle of 2026.

This year is going to see a major shattering of romantic illusions for a huge portion of humanity. Platforms like OnlyFans and other sites that cater to the animalistic sexual fantasies will see a huge rise during this year. Commodification of pleasurable sexual experiences is not a new thing and that is likely to continue from what I see in the houses of romance and relationships. More and more sexualized content is likely to be pumped into social media so that humans can become slaves of their base desires. Kanchan Kaamini (money and sex) were described by the great mystic Ramkrishna Paramhansa as the major hurdles for humans to evolve and raise themselves to God Consciousness. His insights from the classic book “Gospels of Ramakrishna” will be seen in its relevance more and more in the days to come. Immense misery caused by the approach of desire gratification in an inevitable outcome. The importance of the concepts of Tantra and other taboo spiritual subjects to bring harmony to man-woman relationships will see a huge rise.

There is also likely to be a rise in the interest connected with occult and mysterious subjects like Astrology, Tantra, Psychic power, Shamanism and so on. With 3 planets in Poorvashadha nakshatra there will be a rise in the use of dark occult to control and manipulate people on a global scale, as well as at an individual level. The interest in these subjects and related content is likely sky rocket as Moon forms a focal point on bringing out hidden or new and less explored aspects of philosophy, mythology and esoteric knowledge.

With 6th House ruler Saturn placed with Neptune – Unconventional and less explored yet holistic approaches to health and healing are likely to take the centre stage. Homeopathy, Hypnosis, Healing circles, Energy Medicine, Exorcism, Transformational Pilgrimages. Plant Medicine and other healing modalities/experiences will experience a new found relevance. Mental health remains a major challenge and a world already grappling with obsessions and addictions is likely to acknowledge this in a big way. The modern linear treatment and cure systems have failed humanity and this will be amply clear to a huge number of people.

The events that happen in the month of April are likely to be quite relevant and will set the tone for the rest of the year and how it shapes, though there is likely to be an energetic shift to a slightly gentle experience from June onwards (except August)

The Northern parts of many countries and continents are likely to see lot of intense developments and could also be challenging situations. The Western world – Europe, USA etc may see a massive slowdown in many aspects of life – I am not sure but there may be also a urge felt in the Western world to live more conservative lifestyles or it may be the result of situations imposed on them. The Southern parts of many countries and countries in the Southern hemispheres are likely to experience some blessings, growth and expansion.

A note of caution: No matter how good or bad the above revelations for 2026 sound, the eternal wisdom and ancient mystics always suggested that this is just a story/illusion/play/leela and we are nothing but a speck in the larger scheme of things. Don’t let anything affect your connection with the eternal reality. Embrace the practice of checking with your Heart Chakra (Bhakti/devotion and the path of love) and Solar Plexus from time to time, that should help you to navigate even if the crazy world appears to be some kinda roller coaster ride.
