What is the significance of Venus and it’s placement in the birth chart?

Venus is the planet of pleasure, aesthetics, feminity, comforts, luxury and finer tastes.

The placement of Venus shows the area of life where we will attune to our finer sensual inclinations.

Traditionally, in Indian astrology – Venus represented the wife or long term partner in a male’s birth chart. For instance, if venus is placed in the 9th house – a man may find his wife in a foreign land or in a spiritual setup. Venus in 11th house – could lead to a man finding his partner among his friends or social network. If his venus is placed in 10th house – the odds of finding a marital partner at workplace could be high.

However, one has to see many factors while analyzing a birth chart and one should never get into generalizations based on zodiacs or any placements.

Unlike the Western idea – Shukra or Venus is a god and not a goddess in the Indian mythology, I will share some stories about Venus or Shukracharya in the next post!
