The Cyclone Tauktae in Goa was like a churning of the ocean, the Arabian sea – I see it as a healing process. Probably not in a physical sense, but in terms of feeling, before this cyclone, I was feeling suffocated as if there was no breeze and wind moving, as if there was lot of heat and lack of air. I have been feeling this sense of suffocation since the month of March. Incidentally, the word Tauktae which is the name given to this cyclone is the name of a gecko/lizard in Myanmar or Bhutan. As a totem animal, the lizard represents our dreams and subconscious world. Nature has it’s own way of cleaning the energies of manipulation and lack of harmony that we as humans create out of fear and greed. One could think of this wind as God’s vacuum cleaner and the rainfall as a massive spray jet that cleans the aura, the chakras and pranic body of this land. The thunder and lightning – explodes the knots of complexity and neutralizes the artificial radiations/poison that permeates our atmosphere. IT is sound and light healing at it’s best. The renewal is very clear, after the passing of the storm since last night I can feel a warm soothing breeze flowing across this land of my ancestors.

This land was called “Gomantak” – the word ‘go; means cow and eventually it got changed to Govapuri and more recently known as GOa. Mythologically speaking, the Land of Goa was reclaimed from the sea by the axe of mighty Lord Parashuram – the sixth avatar of Vishnu. Coincidentally, the day before the cyclone ( i.e Friday) was celebrated as the rememberance/jayanti of Parashuram.

Devendra Pai on Twitter: "Parshuram threw his axe across and the sea went back and the Konkan strip (including Goa) was created. Parshuram invited 96 families of Gawd Saraswat Brahmins to settle

The warm breeze feels like the warm milk of the mother cow that is soothing and life giving. Nature and it’s mysterious functioning will forever be a mystery to man’s limited existence and even limited cerebral intelligence. The cyclone came with a side effect that is probably not so desirable in our modern world – it got rid of electricity and internet in many places. What a great teacher! – perhaps if we take the cue and can get rid of our phones, delete our propaganda based news channels for few days – we might perhaps realize the worth of our own intelligence that comes from the inner silence and is not clouded by external noises. Wishing love and harmony for the entire Universe – Loka Samasta Sukhino Bhavantu!
